Adhering to and abiding by the Income Tax Act, 1961, an Inspector is responsible for the processing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs), Scrutiny Assessment, Tax Recovery and Collection, participating in Search/Seizure and Survey operations, and facilitating the Appeals process for various tax payers (referred to as ‘Assessee’ here) for the assessment year(s) under consideration. It also includes rectification of all the applications filed by the assesses for any mistake(s) apparent from the record.
