Maintain communications web and social networking sites, and serve as administrator of the city’s website. Market the city’s services and successes in a positive manner to strengthen image and build relationships with residents and businesses. Major accomplishments include the development and longevity of the Green Business Recognition Program, and successful partnering with other entities to form long-term business relationships.

Duties: Develop, organize, coordinate and implement a civic outreach program to engage youth and the general citizenry in basic environmental, ecological and municipal issues. Develop curriculum, activities and hold workshops. Grant writing to aid in program expansion. Promote issues using print, audio and video medias. Research and write environmental articles, hints and tips for publication in citywide newsletters and the Tri-City Herald. Maintain an in-depth web site. Write press releases and hold media events to promote issues/activities. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and handle multi-tasks. Major accomplishments include the development and implementation of Mid-Columbia Earth Month projects and activities, Richland's Green Recognition Program, and successful partnering with other local entities to expand programs and receive grants. Successful community partnerships include those with competitors, public, private, and non-profit organizations.

Duties: Communication and image building techniques to improve department processes and reputation. Overseeing, tracking and communicating the successes of a department with 400 employees. Assist in the developing of customer orientated value-added measurements; process improvement activities; department wide business plans and consistently projecting a professional, positive image of department. Interface with internal and external customers to validate department’s performance and support role to the Hanford Site.
