This approach allows the three levels of government to plan their actions together.• Coordinated and facilitated the implementation of the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme in the Western Cape, with the focus on collaborative initiatives of private/public/civil society regarding socio-economic development.• Responsible for the programme in the Central Karoo, Garden Route, Overberg and West Coast.• Ensured communities understood the terminology of global and national policies and encouraged them to participate in the Integrated Development Planning process.• Established and co-managed the operations of the community driven NPOs per rural node, in terms of development needs.• Provided regular and ongoing coaching and mentoring to the 45 NPOs over three years.• Was able to persuade and influence officials to allocate budgets into the most vulnerable wards in the province, especially the Central Karoo.• Submitted and presented the quarterly progress report to officials in Gauteng.• Part of management delegation who met with officials at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Rome and the Agricultural College in Beaune, France in November 2014.
