What is a Chemical Engineer doing at a FinTech company in Human Resource?That was the question my mother asked me when I moved into Human Resources in the Financial Services industry. I always thought I would work as engineer in the chemical industry and work my way up into the leadership ranks. And this is what I did for the first 14 years of my career, but then I had the opportunity to become involved in Six Sigma and it became my path out of the Chemical Industry into Financial Services and the path from Manufacturing into Human Resources.Once in Human Resources I found my home in HR Operations. This has allowed me to use my engineering thought process across HR Operations from HR Analytics to Payroll to HR Systems to HR Service Center. I thoroughly enjoy using my technical process improvement knowledge to improve the processes and systems that impact employees. HR Operations is a key leader during Mergers and Acquisitions and I love the challenge and balancing act required to bring two organizations together, pulling out the best from each and integrating them to form the new organization. My specialities include Strategic HR Planning, Leadership, Business Transformation, System Implementations, Operations, Process Improvement, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Integration, Reporting, Data and Analytics, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Cross Functional Collaboration, Learning and Development (L&D), Training Facilitation, Coaching and Talent Development.In addition to the experiences shown, I worked for GE Plastics and Honeywell (AlliedSignal) in areas of increasing engineering and leadership responsibilities.
