Professional Cleaning Services was founded in 1980 making it one of the oldest and most experienced commercial cleaning companies in Queensland. With over 30 years’ experience, the company has since grown to employ over 300 staff and currently servicing 200 clients.In this hands on role, I am responsible for managing the overall performance and operations of the Queensland business. I am instrumental in driving continual business process improvement and transformation as well as leading, mentoring and developing a large team. Responsibilities:• Reporting directly to the Director.• Full operational management of the Queensland region which includes budget setting annually, forecasting and cashflow and profit and loss management.• Identifying new business development opportunities to grow the organisation while also managing and growing existing key accounts through strong relationship management. • Sales planning and budget setting annually.• Full responsibility and ownership of the annual and three year strategic plan.• Management of the Human Resources function including union management and salary reviews.• Providing coaching and managing the performance and ongoing development of direct reports, including conducting annual performance assessments. The team consists of five Account Managers, 19 Site Based Supervisors and 179 cleaning staff on a 24/7 roster.• Management of all compliance and quality assurance.• Purchasing and procurement management. This involves all subcontractor management and tender and contract management including negotiations with suppliers.Selected Achievements:• Designed and implemented a strategic plan for the business.• Created a competent, confident and stable team.• Implemented systems and processes including a Quality Assurance, OHS and Human Resources System.

More than 30,000 employees work at more than 800 locations on 4 continents for more than 30 million citizens and many thousands of companies. When I first started with Remondis, although it was established in other states, the company was in the start-up phase here in Brisbane. I was employed to grow the company from zero and successfully built it to a break even company within 4 years. Responsibilities:• Held a key leadership role in the startup phase on the company.• Business development which included identifying and sourcing new key accounts and formulating and implementing sales plans. • Key account management and building relationships with stakeholders to grow new and existing accounts.• Setting sales targets, building sales plans and full budget setting. • Leadership and management of a team of eight Sales Representatives. This included all recruitment, performance management, salary negotiations and inductions. • Full responsibility for tender and contract management including all negotiations with stakeholders and suppliers. Selected Achievements:• Successfully grew the company sales from zero to $3 Million per annum• Successfully built a high performing team employing one staff member initially to eight over four years. • Successfully brought on multiple major accounts and negotiated preferred supplier agreements with major clients throughout Brisbane.
