• Thesis topic: “Benchmarking the Sustainability of Sludge Handling Systems in Small Wastewater Treatment Plants in Ontario”;• Evaluated sludge-handling performance of 10 wastewater treatment plants across Ontario on a variety of sustainability metrics: energy consumption, chemical use, greenhouse gas emissions, biosolids quality and disposition;• Coordinated with all stakeholders (plant operators, utility managers, third-party contractors, etc.) to obtain plant information, arrange site-visits, and facilitate data collection;• Utilized BioWin™ process simulator to model all plant operations and obtain estimates of key parameters;• Gave quarterly presentations to industry advisory group comprised of consultants, government representatives, and industry practitioners;• Presented findings at 2018 WEFTEC Conference in New Orleans, USA.
