In this executive level position, I lead a team of divisional managers and professionals that work with the focus of providing customer service excellence for a diverse organization. This required working directly with various agencies of the Province, Crown Corporations, Private industry, Local Municipalities and elected officials to deliver a wide range of support and services to both Metro Vancouver and to our residents: This includes:•Facility Management: Achieving high standards for maintenance and agile customer service for high-rise, multiple tenant, buildings. $250 million book value•Information Technology: Leveraging technology and driving innovation in the business, aligning Information Systems and business strategies to support business change initiatives, and creating a secure, cost-effective IT infrastructure. $35 million in annual budget•Fleet Operations Services: Targeted with the ongoing maintenance and up keep of over 700 vehicles and heavy equipment. As well as the “greening” of the fleet with the introduction of Electric vehicles and corporate charging stations. $30 million book value. •Safety Management: Managing and delivering continuous improvement in the areas of Corporate Safety, Corporate Security, and First Response Services; •Regional Emergency Management: IPREM Operational Committee Member working with Senior Provincial staff and elected officials to ensure that strategic plans are developed, supported and then implemented •Community Housing Construction: Initiated the Heather Place redevelopment project managed deliverables, schedule and budget. $40 million construction project.

Supported several different divisions with common goals of customer service and corporate support. This included providing strategic and tactical directions for providing users with IT solutions to meet business needs, planning, acquiring, developing and/or implementing business applications, managing hardware and software assets, and managing networks and communications technology.I also directed the management the GVRD’s Head Office building campus, consisting of two high-rise towers and a low-rise storefront, with a capital value of over $70 million. This included building maintenance, renovations negotiating tenant agreements, tenant relations, and making recommendations regarding property acquisition and building use. I was also responsible for corporate programs regarding corporate safety, security, occupational health and emergency management, interfacing with Provincial Emergency Management programs (EMBC) and E911 response (EComm). This amounts to a total annual budget of $29 million and an annual project budget of over $5 million.

In this position, I was responsible for all of the Corporate IT for the GVRD. I managed three core teams: Infrastructure, Development and Client Relations. In support of this, I managed the annual IT operational budget of $12.6 million and an annual project budget of $5 million. In early 2003, my responsibilities were augmented to include property management of the 20 story GVRD Head Office at 4330 Kingsway.

In this position, I established and managed the strategic technical directions and standards at ICBC for small, mid-range, and mainframe computing as well as the entire distributed computing, networking and voice environments. In support of this, I planned and implemented the annual Infrastructure and Telecom operational budget of $35 million and an annual project budget of $8 million with a staff complement of over 110 IT professionals
