My name is Gabriel and I am currently a Program Coordinator at the University of California Berkeley School of Public Health. I work on two fellowship programs, the Blue Shield of California Fellows Program and the Kaiser Permanente Scholars Program in addition to various other activities like managing enrollment for two courses with over 100+ students. My role is dynamic and allows me to utilize a wide range of skills including event and future state planning, stakeholder engagement/management, program evaluation, budget management, problem solving and active communication. Prior to this role, I worked in direct public service work as a School Health Worker Lead and Trainer as part of the COVID 19 Emergency Response Team with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. I started as a Case Investigator then became a Team Lead and shortly after transitioned to the school's team and became a trainer. I joined DPH shortly after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Public Health with a focus in Health Policy and minor in Public Policy. I am an innovator, team oriented collaborator, and active communicator. Social justice and advancing the needs of marginalized communities is at the center of my work/experiences. I am currently looking to continue in higher education and contribute to programs/projects where I can utilize my wide range of skills while also working to help strategize program advancement. Outside of my professional interests I enjoy hikes, R&B music, video games, going to the gym, and hanging out with my pet fish Peter.
