Running a small team of technicians providing 1st line support solutions for one of the university's major campuses. My team are responsible for the implementation and maintenance of all IT equipment including PCs, iMacs, laptops and any other mobile device deployed throughout the university. I am also the relationship holder between the other senior Technicians on the other two campuses and our level 2 support team as well as our software development team.

After completing a 30 hour internship within the university IT department working on a project to upgrade staff users from exchange to office 365, the mangers of the department created a position for me to help support their first line teams with other ongoing projects over the summer period. This later lead me to be integrated into the first line technical support team on a full time basis during the summer and a part time basis during the term time, so I could effectively continue with my studies and support the organisation.I am part of a team that provide first line support to 4000 users including 800 staff and over 3000 students. My responsibilities include dealing with faults and failures of hardware and software across multiple campuses as well as rolling out projects, upgrades and image development. With my history as part of the office 365 upgrade program I was asked to step up and cover the email administrator role whilst the post was unoccupied for 6 weeks. This allowed me to be responsible for the maintenance of what was left of the email servers, maintenance of all the shared mailboxes, and deal with any customer problems or issues that arose.

Joining as a Trainee Store Manager at the fast paced, dynamic and customer focused frozen food retailer Iceland, I took the chance to be responsible for the day to day running of multiple individual retail stores taking between £50,000 and £110,000 per week. Myself and my management team were responsible for managing store key performance indicators, ensuring the customer had an excellent shopping experience and the routine day to day management of other store operations. Seen as an expert in systems and IT, I helped deliver training, advice and troubleshooting on new systems that were launched into stores and became the area champion for this function, for example Nexus, our new in house staff scheduling system.

Maintaining a full and presentable offering for customers. Planning and organising promotion changes, and protecting store shrinkage

I was responsible for the replenishment of a £350,000/week section (store £1.4M). With 19 staff I needed to make strategic decisions to give the customer what they want, and ensure all fixtures and promotional space was filled to capacity.

As Shrink and Security manager, I was responsible for one of the stores most struggling KPI's. In the first half of the year our store had lost £400k in shrinkage alone, in the remaining 6 months of the year, under my leadership, we only spent £200k, saving the store £200k.I also managed the security side of the business, managing guards, making arrests and maintaining good relationships with the local police.

Responsible for the replenishment, sales and service of electrical. I had to build and develop a team of sales experts to advise customers on which product to buy. Also reduced returns rate from 12% down to 8% saving £2,000/week in lost profits.
