Designed and engineered miniature figurines for plastic injection moulding using a variety of 3D software.Started as a trainee and was promoted to designer in June 2019.

Lead Analyst on the Personal Banking portfolio team within Unsecured Credit Risk.Main responsibilities included:- Analysis of very large customer datasets through programming in SAS Enterprise Guide (including SQL) and Excel (VBA macros).- Ongoing monitoring and improvement of arranged and unarranged overdraft limit strategies across all Santander UK personal bank accounts.- Construction of computer models to predict income and write off dynamics in response to changes in credit limits, debit card type offered and fee charging structures.- Supervision of junior analysts.- Working with other departments to anticipate and resolve technical issues before customers were affected.

Senior Analyst on the Unsecured Personal Loans acquisition team within Credit Risk. Main responsibilities included:- Identifying opportunities for improvement in existing acquisition strategy.- Production of regular management information, identifying key trends and risks and performing additional ad-hoc analysis to provide greater insight where appropriate.- Summarising findings to senior management at monthly internal credit review meeting.

The main focus of my role at Sharp was improving the efficiency and performance of liquid crystal displays used in consumer products such as phones and TVs. This was a varied role and allowed me to develop many transferable skills, including:Problem solving. In order to achieve challenging research targets, a structured approach and a keen eye for detail were necessary.Innovation. I invented several new electronic devices with improved performance and reliability, and filed 4 patent applications.Analysis. Large data files resulting from measurements had to be understood and summarised in order to feed back into the design process.Project management. I planned projects and determined key milestones, assigning responsibilities to team members and holding regular update meetings.Building and maintaining relationships. Frequent video conferences and business trips to Japan ensured the continued relevance of our research, and agreement of targets and funding for future projects.

I completed a 1 year contract at Europe’s leading semiconductor R&D centre. Highlights included presenting results of my work at international conferences, and publishing several pieces of work in prestigious scientific journals.

Following successful completion of my PhD, I was employed as a Research Fellow working in a collaboration of European universities and companies.
