Profile bio

About Gareth Richards

I’m a knowledgeable, passionate plantsman with both practical experience and a strong academic grounding in horticulture. Since graduating with an Honours Degree in Horticulture, I've worked continually in my chosen field - in gardening media for the BBC, ITV, Bauer Media and the RHS; and at a leading nursery and a private garden in the South of France. Every part of gardening fascinates me, from the science to the art and the history of the subject.During my career within the television industry as specialist factual researcher, I gained a flair for explaining horticultural topics simply and quickly, which has proved invaluable in my current role as an editor and writer. I spent 15 months consolidating my practical horticultural, design and plantsmanship skills at a private villa in Provence, and am currently working for the RHS as Associate Editor of The Garden magazine.

Listed skills include Editing, Blogging, Horticulture, Photography, and 12 others.
