Working across the production process of the biggest gardening magazine in the country – 'The Garden' – published by the Royal Horticultural Society, included involvement at many levels, from idea-generating editorial meetings, to commissioning authors, writing articles, editing submitted work and proofreading.

In addition to my web-based work, I also write for print (both books and magazines). 'RHS Weeds - The beauty and uses of 50 vagabond plants' (Welbeck/RHS June 2021)'Do Bees Need Weeds?' (co-authored with Holly Farrell - Octopus/RHS November 2020)I have have also contributed as an author to '1001 Plants you must grow before you die' (Cassell 2016) and as a proofreader to 'Gardening in Eastern Africa' (Kenya Horticultural Society 2017).My magazine articles have been published in 'Garden News', 'The English Garden' and 'The Garden'.

I wrote a weekly blog for Bakker / Spalding Plant & Bulb Company on a range of gardening topics, and answered gardening questions via Facebook Q&A sessions. I also wrote copy for the website, with a focus on making the content more readable and search engine friendly.

Developing and maintaining a large private garden close to the Mediterranean coast. Using plant and design knowledge and practical skills to bring the garden to a standard whereby it could be opened to the public (this happened in June 2012).This involved every stage in the process of making a garden, from initial designs to rejuvenation plans, plant procurement and propagation; planting, maintenance, pruning etc; both for edible and ornamental plants. I also gave garden tours in both French and English, and was actively involved in ensuring health and safety standards were met.

Horticultural Researcher for 'Love Your Garden' - ITV's primetime gardening programme with Alan Titchmarsh. A specialist factual researcher role requiring an intimate knowledge of gardening throughout the year. Including finding and assessing gardens and contributors, generating a range of seasonal tasks for presenters to carry out on screen, writing accurate and concise horticultural 'briefs' for directors, and performing tasks off-screen to a high standard to allow the presenter to 'finish' them.

Horticultural researcher on three seies of GW, including role as sole horticulturist on the ‘Changing Fate of the Cottage Garden' BBC Gardeners’ World Special, which won the Garden Media Guild Television Broadcast of the Year 2008.
