We need to raise the profile of the arts. We need to meaningfully engage young people with the sciences. We need to give learners context to how the curriculum affects their lives. Arts integration and STEAM learning tackles all three of these.I work with schools, educators, universities, researchers, and corporations to bridge the divide between the arts and the sciences. As an Interdisciplinary Artist and Educator, I am striving to illuminate the interconnectedness of the STEAM subjects (STEM + Arts) for young minds. Merging my love of art, my Biochemistry and Music Technology studies and my experience as a science teacher in London and Bristol state schools. Although I still work in teacher training, my focus is now STEAM education, connecting school students with STEM researchers using the arts as a form of science communication whist simultaneously embedding and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.In my artwork, I blend science, tech, music, poetry, and fine art to offer unique perspectives on our world. My work explores personal narratives, often portraying my family and the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈. My artwork has been exhibited at notable venues such as the Southwark Park Gallery, London, The People’s Republic of Stokes Croft, Bristol and most recently L'Étoile Studio, Bristol. I typically work with oil paint and India ink.My passion for education and outreach has led me to found The MoSAIC, an interdisciplinary education start-up. Now my 9 to 5, The MoSAIC utilises the arts to translate complex scientific concepts for secondary school students with the aim of inspiring the next generation of cross-disciplinary thinkers.By accompanying my artwork with lesson plans and workshops through The MoSAIC website, I make cutting-edge science research accessible and engaging for secondary school students. Join me in fostering a dynamic educational landscape that celebrates both arts and sciences.Why the a.k.a? Originally I used a different name to hide my identity online from students.
