Hi, I’m Gareth, founder and CEO of TQSolutions, Australia’s leading talent and workforce strategy and solutions business. I lead TQ’s advisory offering, partnering with some of Australia and the world’s largest employers to guide them through significant talent change and transformation programs. This work spans talent strategy, operating model reviews, technology strategy, skills strategy, future-state planning and roadmapping, candidate/employee experience diagnostics and design, employee sentiment and attrition/retention analysis. I’m passionately vocal about the topics that I see as critical issues and opportunities for employers and their people functions, including talent and workforce strategy, optimising operating models, the emerging skills economy, future leadership requirements, HR/Talent tech strategy and ecosystem, employee attraction, engagement and retention, and the future-state of the talent function. In early 2024, I launched TQSolutions’ global skills research program, interviewing experts from around the world on the why, how and ‘so what’ of what it takes to become a skills-based organisation. My team and I are using this data, together with our research, frameworks and client experience to stress-test skills strategy and understand the relevance of skills to organisations. We will be releasing our findings later this year.I founded TQSolutions in 2008 when I saw a gap in the market for a specialist independent talent consultancy that advised clients on building internal capabilities, as well as actively supporting projects through agile workforce arrangements. Since then, my expert team and I (more than 40 specialist HR/talent professionals) have advised major employers, including GE, Philips, Australia Post, ANZ, Westpac, IAG, Macquarie, Worley, Coles, Reece, Jetstar, Bupa, Lion, IAG, Deloitte, PwC, Federal & State government departments. I also co-founded The Career Conversation in 2017, an early careers experience and engagement business that is currently scaling its operations following a recent capital raise and is working with high-profile customers, including Bank of America, PwC, Deloitte, CBA, Findex and Babcock. I moved to Melbourne, Australia from London in 1999 and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I now live on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, Victoria with my wife and I’m very proud of our two children who are making their own way in the world of work and life.
