As a senior OT over here, my job responsibilities are helping the client achieve goals set forth in the treatment plan by providing neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic activity, therapeutic exercise, development of cognitive skills, sensory integration techniques. Also Ensuring safety at discharge and continuation of progress by providing, home exercise programs, family/caregiver instruction, recommendations for assistive equipment and recommendations for continued therapy in a less restrictive setting.

My job profile in this clinic focussed on providing customized services as per different disabilities of the patients. Educate a patient’s family about how to help care for and accommodate them easily. Reviewing progress and upgrading the prescribed treatment as per the requirement.

My major responsibilities were undertaking kids assessments of physical, communication, interaction and cognitive skills followed by planning and providing appropriate treatment and activities. Alongside, I used to run group therapy sessions for various classroom level children.

During my term over here, I primarily used to evaluate a patient's condition and needs. Develop a treatment plan for patients, laying out the types of activities and specific goals to be accomplished. Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.

Had the first hand experience with kids with special needs. Had an opportunity to observe them, evaluate and treat them. Meeting patients goal and needs and providing quality care was the main target.
