In 2019, I earned my undergraduate degree in Mathematical Sciences from the prestigious University of California, Santa Barbara. Driven by my passion for STEM, I chose to study mathematics as it provides a gateway to various scientific disciplines.After completing my undergraduate degree, I started the position of Operations Research Analyst for the US Navy, where I was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting data analytics on maintenance and logistics data. During my initial years in this role, I honed my technical and analytical skills, mastering data cleaning and exploratory data analysis with tools such as Pandas (via Python) and Power Query. I also became adept at developing visually-appealing representations of data through the use of Tableau and Qlik Sense, earning a Tableau certification in the process. Additionally, I gained proficiency in database / UI design using MS Access, VBA and SQL.Despite my passion for the work, I yearned to develop a broader skillset to tackle more complex and intriguing challenges. To that end, I began my Master's of Advanced Studies program in Data Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego in the fall of 2021.During my graduate studies, I have delved into the mathematics underpinning machine learning algorithms, including both supervised and unsupervised techniques. Furthermore, I have augmented my programming skills, utilizing version control with Git Bash, and learning to employ Python libraries like sklearn, dask, Hadoop, Spark, numpy, seaborn, re, py_stringmatching, and others. I have also gained exposure to various data file types, including csv, txt, excel, xml, json, owl, and parquet. Additionally, I have acquired expertise in database design with PostgreSQL, as well as the fundamental functions of Amazon Web Services (AWS).With the completion of my Master's program, I have continued to enjoy data science at NAVAIR.
