Assisted the Water Quality Restoration Grant unit with several responsibilities which largely revolved around the use of GIS, mainly ArcMap and ArcGIS Online. I managed the internal NJDEP Watershed Restoration layer, updating them with closed out grant projects along with updating missing/erroneous data regarding older grant projects. Outside of my GIS work, I also joined the Mitigation team on several field visits to mitigation sites and wetland banks that were funded by the DEP to gain hands-on experience with habitat restoration and invasive species identification. In addition, I participated in community outreach programs to promote sustainability and environmental consciousness, such as the Youth Inclusion Initiative. While outside of these obligations, I strengthened my environmental management skills through DEP-run workshops such as Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) training.
