Where many people run back to the safety of what they know, I’m energized by meeting unusual, often extreme challenges. I enjoy harnessing chaos and transforming it into a coherent operation that is grounded in efficient routines but adaptable enough to overcome unexpected challenges.I’ve achieved great satisfaction from • turning around dysfunctional operations • starting new operations from scratch (from a cargo distribution operation in support of the largest sustained shipboard deployment in Marine Corps history, to a world-famous wedding cake bakery) • making tens of thousands of raw translations understandable to diverse audiences all over the world • helping thousands learn new skills to do their jobs better or to move on to the next stage in their careers or education. The key to my success has been my passion for learning new information, developing systems, and building winning teams. A little about me:In everything I do, from my work, to training for road races, to raising my children, I bring the logical approach I honed while earning my engineering degree, the “Can do” spirit and discipline required of a Marine officer, and two-way communication skills honed in a variety of settings and cultures. Being a first-generation college graduate who's worked with people at all levels in the military and private industry from different countries and cultures, I feel comfortable working with almost anyone in almost any environment. I have a knack for eliciting knowledge and wisdom from all involved, synthesizing it to build systems in which everyone feels ownership, and communicating clear expectations so that the team can excel beyond anyone’s initial hopes. I work steadily towards practical solutions, asking targeted questions, conducting wide-ranging research, and constantly assessing where we are, where we want to go, and how to get there, all the while building a coherent plan based on the input and skills of all members of the team.

Operations ManagerAna Parzych Cakes Jan 2006 - PresentCheshire, Ct• Co-founded and developed what quickly became one of the world’s most highly regarded wedding cake providers, through my early PR efforts to be featured on The Food Network, the cover of People magazine's first weddings issue, and many other top industry and fashion media outlets. Continue to be regularly featured in top wedding and lifestyle media on 4 continents. • Trained and supervised previously unskilled employees to produce world-class products, delivering more than 1,300 highly delicate cakes on time with no major mishaps despite facing many unforeseeable challenges, as far away as Dubai. • Accomplished this by creating systems, inventing tools (physical and software), and developing performance metrics and techniques for multiple areas, including production planning, production, purchasing, training, accounting, and delivery, always setting clear, high expectations in a productive, energetic workplace. • Organized streamlined supply chain of a wide variety of ingredients, supplies, tools, and specialty products, cutting time required for supply management by more than half.• Created workflow planning and tracking systems to ensure efficient, responsive customer service and accounting, and ensure that every couple receives exactly what they expect on most important day of their lives.• Developed systems, schedules, and routines to give employees crystal clear, very specific expectations every day, in the face of what would otherwise be overwhelmingly complicated specifications and demanding delivery schedules.
