This isn't really a job it is a lot of fun. We take small groups of up to 8 out for exclusive, luxury champagne cruises on Loch Ness and The Caledonian Canal. The duration can be from two hours to a week and we have a lot of fun showing them around, telling a little history and a few stories whilst enjoying each other's company. I was chair the Board of Management and also the Project Board which oversaw the building of the new campus at Beechwood, Inverness. Worked with some fantastic people in a vibrant learning environment.

I was independent chair of the Highland Third Sector Interface. I undertook this role on a time limited basis as there were major challenges to be addressed and I felt that I should lead the board through them and move on at a time agreed before I started. It was a very interesting and challenging experience working with highly motivated people going through some very difficult challenges.

I started as a police cadet and worked my way through the ranks in a broad range of operational and managerial positions leading on a number of major projects and initiatives, including structural and culture change programmes.For the last eight years of my service I was Deputy Chief Constable with responsibility for 1,300 police officers and police support staff. During my time as Deputy Chief Constable I was also the Scottish Police National lead on Search and Rescue, communications, professional standards and ethics. I led the national programme on the introduction of mobile data to the police service and also the programme to bring all emergency services to joint service working on communication.In short I have lots of experience in policing at local and national level including liaison with national and local politicians and civil servants. I have particular specialist skills in strategic, incident and event planning and management along with communications, search and rescue, professional standards, internal investigations and ethics.
