Been in the technology media business since 1981serving in management roles at McGraw-Hill (sales manager for Data Communications Magazine) and International Data Group (publisher of Network World, Computerworld and CIO Magazines) Have a current focus on the state of science, technology, engineering and math education in America. Publish a blog on cio.com entitled "Science and Math Imperative" addressing this issue. For 10 years have written a column in the print edition of CIO Magazine. Handle news and information requests from the media and have appeared/been quoted in The New York Times, CNBC Squawk Box, CNBC Closing Bell, The San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today and the AP. For four years I did technology commentary for National Public Radio's All Things Considered and Morning Edition programs.Founded (1994) Tech Corps, a national non-profit dedicated to challenging IT executives to get involved in K-12 education in America and was also a member of the board of directors for Net Day (1996-2000).Specialties: Insight into the key issues/challenges facing chief information officers in their day to day jobs as they transition from operational experts to business strategists.
