I've served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. I come from a family that has a long history of military service and I followed that tradition when I enlisted in 1992. During my enlistment, I completed training and certification as an air traffic controller and an air traffic control watch supervisor for both tower and radar approach control facilities. I finished a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree and was accepted into the United States Air Force Officer Training School in 2001. Upon graduation of officer training, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned the Air Force specialty of airfield operations. During my career, I've served at various positions of responsibility from the squadron level to Air Force Major Command staff and deployed multiple times in support of various military operations throughout the Middle East and Asia.Additionally, I was selected to become a Foreign Area Officer for Europe in 2008. My training consisted of a Master of Arts in National Security Studies at Naval Postgraduate School and language training from the Defense Language Institute. I have experience working for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency executing a building partnership and building partner capacity mission throughout Eastern Europe.I thoroughly enjoy being in the Air Force and although I'm working on my third decade of service, I have no intention of retiring anytime soon.
