Reviewing and resourcing priority calls to service for domestic abuse. Strategizing and directing lines of enquiry for domestic abuse investigations. Ensuring CPIA and disclosure rules are adhered to and liaising with third party support agencies to offer safeguarding and help prevent further risk of harm. Quality assure all reasonable investigative enquiries are completed in a timely manner and making informed decisions on appropriate out comes for victims and suspects.

As Custody Officer: manage risk 24/7 through application of strict codes of practice and legislative guidance as well as adaptable problem-solving approach, leading a small team to respond to constantly variable levels of threat and very limited resource provision.

Leading a team of 17, I am responsible for the immediate response to critical incidents and the management of a wide range of operational activities. I bring a thoughtful and considered approach, even under pressure of time and tight budgetary constraints. I have a confident leadership approach with proven skill at managing a diversity of issues, influence widely and to process information quickly and accurately. I consistently demonstrate an ability to recognise and resolve problems as recognised on undertaking my current role during a significant organisational change. An aspect of reorganisation included the reallocation of investigative duties, I recognised a critical lack of training and understanding of requirements. Utilising my investigative experience, I undertook the training of key staff to ensure cases were correctly recorded and that all legal and ethical requirements were met. I trained my peers in guidance and investigation strategies, guiding officers with open direction whilst empowering growth and confidence.

I held responsibility for investigations, from initial planning and strategy setting, investigating lines of enquiry, completion of case papers through to presenting evidence at Court; overseeing a significant caseload ensuring effective prioritisation of deadlines and objectives. I managed a wide range of cases from fraud and acquisitive offences through to violent crime and drug offences, consistently delivering the very highest standards of evidence to support subsequent convictions. I was selected to perform the duties of the rank above my own, managing a team across two locations, I prioritised workloads and ensured the most effect use of resources and developed and implemented strategy tools to develop performance. I drove improvement including innovations to reduce the workload on custody centre staff and enable fast return of officers to external duties.

I led a team in the implementation of long term solutions to neighbourhood issues, resolving areas of greatest concern to the community. I conducted and chaired meetings with the wider community, building and maintaining resilient relationships. I planned and drove operations to combat offending with exceptional results, delivering strong results and well managed resources and financial budgets. Responding to severe austerity measures it was necessary to reduce policing hours and implement station closures. In support of the community, I formed a specialist team with local availability, to respond to concerns particularly from elderly residents offering them reassurance whilst remaining within tight budgetary limits. From this, I was able to instigate greater intelligence gathering and successful resolution to various anti-social behaviour issues.

Like all police officers, I began my service as a constable. I moved progressively through a wide range of training and development, building exceptional capability around enquiry, observation and personal interaction.

I was selected to join this highly competitive manufacturing apprenticeship scheme subsequently securing a role as support manufacturing engineer. My role included construction of satellite production in an electronics environment alongside active liaison with support companies to ensure the maintenance of the very highest levels of service.
