Brindabella Birds 'n' Bees currently have beehives and a mobile honey processing capability under management yielding around three tonnes of all natural, cold extracted, fine local honey annually. We have established a free range poultry operation on a property just 30 minutes from the centre of Canberra which continues to expand each year since we commenced operations back in September 2007. We prefer to do things the old fashioned way, hence our eggs are not the cheapest to produce but are considered to be a superior choice for the gourmet cheff: • Flock numbers are kept lower than that of the larger commercial operators and very generous space is provided for the welfare of the birds. Natural behaviours of scratching, roosting, dust bathing, mating and brooding are all accommodated on the farm. We do not use hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or medications on our laying flock preferring to seek a homeopathic solution should it ever be required.• Our yolks are all natural and vary in colour on a daily basis based on natural selection and dietary requirements self regulated by each bird, rather than by artificial food additives which commercial operators provide in the feed in the absence of green feed being made available to the birds. • We provide Canberra on a weekly basis with superior farm fresh free range eggs and honey produced with a heart for the people of the city of Canberra. In February 2007, a not-for-profit organisation titled the Solomon Waters Agricultural Resource and Mentoring Association (SWARM) was created in Canberra with a charter to establish a working farm as the vehicle for a healing and restoration ministry and as a means of providing new life and work skills experiences, paid work places and to act as an incubator for new, innovative, eco-friendly and resource conscious agricultural micro-businesses. SWARM’s VisionWe believe in actively working towards a healthier mind, body and spirit achieved through seeking the Word of God, communing with Him through nature and His living creatures, spending time in fellowship with one another and through physical toil of the land. Our heart is for restoration and healing from the grips of depression and other mental illnesses. We are committed to the belief that everyone deserves and has the right to a fresh start and a chance for a more fulfilling and fruitful life. We aim to facilitate healthy self determination of improved ‘Life’ choices through the exploration of God’s plan laid out for each of us and practically through mentoring, support and action programs.
