Gary manages MutualBank’s Business Banking’s Specialty Lending Group (SLG). This includes: 1)The investment of MutualBank excess liquidity in non-traditional alternatives to generate enhanced yield for the Bank; and 2) Management of more complex traditional Business Banking relationships. Gary has thirty-five years of corporate banking experience with both regional and community banks in Indiana and contiguous states. Gary's range of experience includes management of commercial lending relationships for middle-market and small business clients in manufacturing, wholesale, service, construction, agriculture and commercial real estate. Significant risk management experience in the management of credit underwriting and loan administrative processes for commercial clients, including workouts and regulatory compliance. Development and management of staff for both sales and credit functions of commercial banking. Previous positions with MutualBank include Sr. Commercial Credit Manager and Sr. Business Banker/Team Leader.

Credit Risk Process Management for $600MM commercial portfolio inclusive of southern Indiana, southern Illinois and western Kentucky markets. Engaged in efforts to demonstrate a senior management team “Closer for the Community” campaign and brand identification. Served as Senior Banking officer on most client calls contributing to the negotiation of terms and closing. Activley served to raise performance of calling efforts and enhance recognition of relationship managers and affect professional development as it related to loan risk criteria, structuring and effective pricing.

Central point person in structuring, approval and portfolio management for credit exposures for business clients with annual revenues $5 to $25MM. Managed development of four credit analysts.Implemented re-engineering that resulted in reduction of average credit approval turnaround from 14 to 4 days, while efficiencies gained also allowed for 40% staff reduction.
