Technology Centre

Development and scale up of cross flow filtration processes for the purification and concentration of Aqueous Inkjet Colorants and Reactive Pigment Dispersions. Scale up of Formulation and Filtration Processes for aqueous inkjet colorants to yield final sales products. Manage Membrane Team of full time and contract chemists. Provide all manufacturing support to full scale membrane production units.

Supervise the Day to Day running and operations of a GMP Pharmaceutical Facility. Managed a Team of 8 Production Chemists

Procion Production Plant

Cross-Flow Membrane Filtration of Aqueous Textile Dyes and laterally Aqueous Inkjet Colorants including the concentration and purification of these dyes. Technical Manager of 4 full scale membrane plants that manufactured both high strength soluble liquid dyes and spray dried grains. During this time I managed, the Finishing End and Standardising Plant and the team of 20 manufacturing process operators. Laterally, I managed the closure of the Plant and mothballing of the RO and UF Membrane Plants and the Spray Driers to a safe position.

Procion Production Plant

Managed and provided the technical expertise for the day to day running of 2 large scale cross flow Nano Filtration (NF) and 2 Ultra Filtration (UF) tubular membrane filtration units. Used for the Concentration, Purification and Ion Exchange of aqueous textile dyes, The textile dyes were in a high strength liquid form and a spray dried solid grain.

Process Technology

Developed the cross flow membrane processes for the high strength reactive liquid dyes and spray dried grains for the Textile Business. This involved analysis, SEM examination of the final grains product and a major project to improve the robustness and quality of the the spray dried grain. Intially, spent time in the Characterisation Laboratory carrying out analysis on final products and developing acid-base auto-titration methods for Textile Business and halide determination for the Agrochemical Business.
