Senior Global Procurement Manager

Working as Procurement Manager for a Global clinical research organisation (CRO) operating within the pharmaceutical sector, reporting into the Vice President of Procurement. Responsibilities include: Category Management of Global Logistics, Global Translations, Clinical Procurement Previously managed Global Telecoms, Managed Print, Facilities, Marketing, Car Leasing, IT Support & Maintenance renewals.  Spend analysis for each category and identifying areas of cost-cutting potential.  Overseeing the tendering process for a variety of services linked to the above categories. Identify preferred suppliers to the business and engage in negotiations to put Master Service Agreements in place. Negotiation of extended payment terms with existing suppliers to improve company cash-flow. Monitoring of Group contracts database to highlight contract expiration dates to identify opportunities for renegotiation. Consolidation of the Global Supplier base.

Working within the Procurement function of NetShare Ireland (a joint venture mobile telecommunications network management company owned by Vodafone and Hutchison 3G Mobile), reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain. Responsibilities include: Sourcing and engaging with new suppliers, and negotiation of payment terms. Supply Chain representative within the SAP implementation team, developing processes and testing functionality in preparation of rollout. Responsible for evaluation and selection of network energy provider. Contract value in excess of €5m. Evaluation and recommendation of suppliers for a rollout programme of network hardware upgrades. Contract value circa €4m. Negotiation and procurement of company fleet vehicles and vehicle fleet management system. Successfully sourced Health & Safety clothing and training for all staff attending sites and ensured all items met with industry safety guidelines. Liaison with Head of Finance to ensure all procurement activity within defined budget lines.

Worked with a Dublin based mobile telecommunications company responsible for multiple areas of procurement to include mobile phone handsets, accessories, and car kits (annual budget circa €500k)Examples of other procurement projects: Consulted with the agent appointed on behalf of a prominent Dublin sporting organisation charged with the redevelopment of their clubhouse facilities. Assessed their requirements and specific budget, developed request for proposals and distributed to the chosen suppliers. Managed the procurement of kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and installation by Electrical and Plumbing contractors (worked within allocated budget of €200k) Project managed the relocation of an Engineering company, including the sourcing of a premises, all office equipment and furniture (worked within allocated budget of €150k) Contracted to source trading premises and food preparation facility for a catering business based in City Centre and South Dublin including procurement of kitchen equipment and delivery vehicles Management of a large property portfolio for an individual client with control over negotiation of leases, tendering for building repairs and maintenance, rent reconciliation, and appointing of letting agents

Complete responsibility for the running of the Accounts Department reporting directly to the Managing Director. Management of a portfolio of 350 clients. Implementing all credit policies and procedures. Responsible for maintenance of credit limits and ensuring adherence of the company’s credit policy. Responsible for month-end bank reconciliation. Over-seeing Accounts Payable and ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed terms. Liaison with Ulster Bank Commercial Services ensuring commercial funding limits are not exceeded and updating of Sales Invoicing where necessary. Identifying possible delinquent accounts and referral of same to the company’s insurers. Regular liaison with company Solicitor and responsible for referral of files for litigation / collection.  Co-ordinate all internal communication around company exposure and present at weekly management meetings.
