Working as a machinist within the Machine Shop, it is my duty to ensure that the quality of components meet customer satisfaction criteria before and after machining. Also ensuring that components are packaged and that all documentation is completed, ready for dispatch.

Working outside in the paddocks, I was part of a team responsible for picking and packing cauliflower. I passed the company exam for driving the vehicles and was trusted by the supervisor to be lead driver. I inspected the vehicles first thing in the morning to ensure that company Health and Safety criteria was met. I also helped in many other departments within the business when required.

Due to previous knowledge of the business and the business ERP system, the position grew to assisting with the Purchasing, Finance, Goods Inwards, Dispatching and Logistics departments.

Progressing from a part-time barman, I was promoted to live-in full-time Assistant Manager. I was responsible for opening and closing the pub; cashing up and investigating any discrepancies; dealing with cash and card payments; creating and maintaining rotas; taking and placing orders; general administration; assisting in the kitchen with food preparation and cooking.

Ensuring Client Service Level Agreements were met by monitoring overnight schedules 24 / 365 support. Escalating issues to 2nd and 3rd party support if required. Monitor the on and off-site Retail Assist network, servers, routers, switches and hardware. Creating and monitoring daily and weekly backups for clients.

In a food environment, I was responsible for checking quality of final product against specific customer specifications. Checking hygiene standards and pre-op tests. Collecting daily and weekly samples / swabs for lab testing. Probe calibration. Conducting environmental audits and investigating odour complaints.

Progressed from Customer Assistant to Team Leader within 3 months. Managing a staff of approximately 30 varying in status, age and gender. Managing rotas and conducting 'welcome back' meetings. Ensuring that the department ran to the best of its ability and implementing changes as required. Face-to-face dealing with customers on the shop floor.

Monitoring, maintaining and installing business application systems; updating and installing hardware / software on the company computers. Monitoring, maintaining and installing windows servers for approx. 50 users. Having obtained the necessary Microsoft Office, Sage and EFACS training, I assisted with training new personnel to use these systems.

Started off as a general admin assistant to the HR department during the school summer holidays. I would also work full-time during half-term and term holidays whilst working 2-3 hours a day after school. After a year, I was taken on full-time in the stores and warehouse department. I was responsible for managing the MRP supply chain systems, on and offline. Day-to-day dealings with customers and suppliers; creating and processing dispatch notes and invoices. Further duties include dealing with deliveries and monitoring / editing schedules for supplier components and raw materials. Processed and monitored scrap and return parts. During this time, I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Storage, Warehousing and Distribution. I then got a promotion to IT Assistant.
