Gary founded Inspiral Cycles Ltd in September 2014 and started trading March 2015. Despite increasing pressures in high street retail and shrinking profit margins in the bike industry, in a short time Inspiral Cycles has grown into a rather busy little business with an excellent reputation. Gary's got a very broad range of experience, a creative way of looking at things, and wants to share his passion for cycling with the widest possible audience. In November 2022 Inspiral Cycles was awarded BikeBiz Independent Bike Dealer of the Year, this is awesome recognition for our very skilled, experienced and hard working team.in 2022 Gary invented the (patent pending) KOLARP mountain bike suspension design. Auckland Cycle Works' first public outing was at the Bespoked hand made bicycle show in London, October '22, where the prototype bikes gathered a lot of positive attention and Gary was very proud and humbled to be the first winner of the Mike Burrows award for invention. The prototype bikes that have been built demonstrate that the KOLARP design significantly out-performs everything else that is currently on the market.Gary is now starting the process of manufacturing amazing mountain bikes in the North East of England, and invites enquiries from potential investors. VariousSeveral 1998 - Dec 2007Nottingham, Wellington (New Zealand), Durham...Experienced a range of administrative/coordinator/manager roles in some very different teams in some very different cultures across both private and public sectors. Successful experience of building MS Access databases for a range of different businesses, for large and small tasks. Greater interest in designing the database to aid organisational communication & fulfil its strategic purpose, than in the writing of code to make it dance. Firm believer in solid foundations built upon a good understanding of where data has come from and what happens to it on its journey. I've long understood that a good understanding of the underlying factors is relevant to a lot more than just designing shonky-but-effective small scale databases! Very aware of the importance of appropriate/measured/focused customer engagement and consultation. Experience with larger organisations has helped me to refine my personal effectiveness and to see the importance of supporting others to achieve their goals.
