- Building and Configuring computers to be used on oil rigs.- Setting up testing environments, to be used for troubleshooting, future development or Rig queries.- Virtualisation, Creation of a “virtual cluster” test setup used for support and testing, at any one time there were between 30 to 40 setups used for testing and an integrated partof the company’s testing and development, this setup increased my knowledge of ESXi, Vmware, Vmotion VSAN and other virtualisation Technology.- VLAN and switch configuration, VPN and RDP setup and configuration creating VLANS to allow remote access to Virtual hardware, complying with strict security required by any top Oil company.- Server room maintenance and network support, keeping the main server room for setting up Servers to be sent to rigs, support, development and Programming up and running, creating of databases using SQL.- Ordering of hardware using Siemens TeamCenter and Oracle.- Tech Hardware support responsible, Responsible for all Computer hardware related support tickets to make sure they were answered and resolved.- Virtual Rig responsible, Responsible for setting up the complete virtual rig to test new releases of software and maintaining the setup while testing is ongoing.- Microsoft Hardening, improving security of Microsoft operating systems and products they provide to increase security and ease of use to applicable requirements.
