MWD - Measurement while drilling.As a MWD Field Engineer I use the MWD tool to determine the down hole measurements related to the wellbore. The MWD tool use accelerometers and magnetometers to interpolate data for the inclination, azimuth, tool face and gamma ray in order to obtain a down hole directional survey. Phoenix Technology currently uses a P360 MWD tool which uses a positive pulse system that transmits data by creating positive mud pulses inside the drill string transmitting data to the surface.Once we retrieve the survey with quality data we can then use this information to plot the data on to a graph to determine the path in which we are drilling ahead. As a MWD we provide our clients with relevant information regarding job progress, problems, solutions and accurate job data. Provide operational advice on relevant equipment technical/operational specifications to Company Man, Geologist, Mud Engineer and Phoenix in a professional manner.
