Experience as a teacher across all levels from K-12 through to Masters level, including broad experience in leadership, education and community engagement, having commenced working life as a secondary school teacher, advancing into leadership roles, both in education (at Heatherhill High School as leader of a department, member of the school's education committee, through the professional association for Commerce teachers) and in community engagement (taking responsibility as the School Public relations officer.) Moving outside of the education department for a time, I engaged with primary and secondary schools in running programs for marginalised youth, and with students from CALD communities. I later took up a part-time role as chaplain at Kilvington Girls Grammar School, where I served as part of the school leadership team, providing care for students, staff and alumni, and developing a spirituality curriculum for the whole school.Experienced in curriculum and policy development, implementation and review, governance, pastoral care and teacher development.

The CARASA foundation exists to free children and women from slavery, and to provide medication, hospital care and education. The organisation was commenced by my daughter and is now increasingly being managed and directed by an inspiring group of young people.

Occasional contributor to the Faith column and opinion pages in the Melbourne Age, I have also written a number of blogs, and published an educational resource and chapters to books.
