Now single projects are near this rate)Bulk Handling Innovation (BHI) has developed a new very low energy high capacity overland belt conveyor, called the "Down Under Belt Conveyor". The DUBC™ has lower capex, opex and power than conventional conveyors. The rigid low profile support system allows the conveyor to operate at very high speeds and cover large distances, + 30kM in a single flight. A recent example we quoted had 18,000 less rollers and the build time was reduced by 3 months. BHI has developed a condition monitoring system that uses a fibre optic cable to detect failing belt conveyor idler roll bearings. The low cost cable is the sensor. With future conveyors having over 50,000 bearings, online monitoring systems will become increasingly important.
