• Applied my experience with object oriented concepts to the design and development of Space Shuttle application and support software.• Developed Command and Control Application/Prompting Managers as part of the Application Services Framework group of the Launch Control System (LCS) at the Kennedy Space Center. These modules operate as interfaces between the generic launch system data distribution system and the application software developed by hardware systems engineers.

• Develop and maintain the Test Application Display Driver (TADD). Over several deliveries, the TADD was upgraded to support additional requirements and include performance enhancements. • Organize display programming seminars for application software developers covering display development, TADD capability extension, insertion of plot objects into an application display, and debugging tools. • Perform technical interviews of prospective system software employees. • Mentor new employees.

• Developed and maintained the Data Processing System (DPS) Simulation Model for the Space Shuttle Program. • Developed and maintained the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Application Software for the Space Shuttle Program. • Developed the Unix Control Management System (UCMS). This system had a X/Motif-based GUI and monitored live Space Shuttle data traffic from a Solaris platform. Over time, I ported UCMS to a network server for use by the Shuttle Data Center (SDC). A "plug-in" was the created for UNIX-based applications requiring access to the live Space Shuttle data. • Developed a self-contained plot viewer which could be inserted into an application display for the Test Application Display Driver (TADD).

• Developed an IBM PC-based Chromatics CG-1900 emulator in C and Intel assembly language. • Assisted in porting the Absoft FORTRAN 77 compiler to the Apple Macintosh. I created the interface which allowed the general FORTRAN 77 applications to interact with the Macintosh's system and graphics libraries. • Converted the Absoft FORTRAN 77 compiler's source code parser for the Apple Macintosh to support the Microsoft BASIC language. This product eventually became part of the Microsoft BASIC Compiler version 1.0 for the Apple Macintosh. • Develop a disk-based graphic text editor for the Apple Macintosh that removed the 32 kb document size limitation inherent to all other editors available at that time. • Built the object code generator for the Technosys BASIC Compiler for the Apple Macintosh. • Integrate the Technosys BASIC compiler with the disk-based text editor to create an integrated development environment.

• Integrated a Motorola 68000-based system with a Chromatics CG-1900 color graphics console, a pen plotter, a color printer, and a video projector to support Space Shuttle Management presentation Graphics.
