Currently with 35 years experience in Fire and Rescue operations, my first 25 in the UK with Merseyside Fire and Rescue, primarily in operations with promotional breaks serving in risk a, management and the training academy. Developed rope rescue team in early 2000 moving to Special Rescue Team in 2004 now Search and Rescue Team as a Team Leader. As a member of this team i received extensive, training in the technical rescue field including USAR, confined space, high angle rescue, swift water rescue, rescue boat operations, heavy rescue and vehicle extrication. I was able to work and train in the US with Texas task force 1 on secondment and attended several operational response exercises. Served as a member of UKISAR from 2005 to 20213 ( United Kingdom International search and Rescue) As team leader was also on the development team for the EUs project Water Save, which created training standards for flood and water rescue in Europe.On Moving to Canada in 2013, whist working in industry in specialist rescue i was able to volunteer for Red Deer County Fire and Red Deer Search and Rescue, in 2014 i moved to Huskey energy in the position of deputy chief/ Emergency services coordinator. I transitioned in 2016 to municipal world as Manager of fire and protective services for the Town of Innisfail, and Director of Emergency management.I am married, enjoy camping, hiking, biking and keeping fit.
