General Management of Metro Compactor Service's Western Facility including production, field services, sales, growth and business development. Tripled Net Income in 3 years

Managed all aspects of a 13,000ft warehouse in a vertically integrated company that carried over 6,000 SKUs with responsibilities including picking, shipping, receiving, packing and reverse logistics in a non-union environment.

Reporting to the President, I managed all aspects of Post closure Activities, including a landfill gas and groundwater treatment plants, to fulfill BC Ministry of Environment requirements for a closed landfill. I managed the operations and maintenance of a 4.8 megawatt Landfill Gas Utilization Plant that achieved the highest uptime percentage since commissioning at 92%. I also managed the waste and recycling contract for the operations of rural transfer stations in the Thompson Nicola Regional District that staffed 70+ unionized employees.

Working under the General Manager, I managed all aspects of a unionized maintenance department with a $5M annual budget and assets totalling $30M, including sixty (60) heavy-duty pieces of equipment and a trailer fleet of seventy-four (74) highway trailers. Within 3 years, we increased highway trailer PM completion percentage from 65% to 95% all while promoting a safe working environment that saw no loss time due to injuries in over 2 years. I also led and implemented a 5s lean manufacturing program that yielded a 5% increase in productivity.

Reporting to the General Manager, I managed a unionized green waste and wood waste brokerage facility with 20k tonnes of annual production. By working diligently with both the operations and maintenance team, I increased production efficiency by 70% through capacity evaluation and site reconfiguration while minimizing unplanned equipment maintenance downtime.

Reporting to the General Manager, I supervised and managed the transportation of 600,000 Metric Tonnes of municipal solid waste and 30,000 Metric Tonnes of recyclables annually. Worked with Wastech’s hauling contractors and Health & Safety Specialists to ensure the safe execution of over 7,000 annual trips of Municipal Solid Waste, Recyclables, and Fly Ash products with an on-time delivery percentage over 92%.

Working under the Logistics Manager, I facilitated daily scheduling and coordination of the transportation of Municipal Solid Waste and Recyclables with Wastech’s Hauling Contractors and Operations Department.
