Self employed in freelance vessel inspection role for well known inspection and assurance company. Inspections include all Marine and technical aspects of vessel operation. Inspections also encompass compliance with all regulations and industry standards including MODU code, SOLAS and API. Act as client witness during Dynamic Positioning, Drilling equipment and vessel equipment tests and trials.

Vessel manager responsible for the safe and efficient operation of several VLGC’s. Responsible for all aspects of vessel management from technical operation and support to budgetary control, ISM compliance, Drydock preparation, management and execution and implementing improvement strategy for CDI and SIRE vetting performance.

Chief Engineer onboard the 6th generation, DPIII deepwater drill ship Stena Carron and DPIII semi submersible, Stena Don. Engineering manager with full accountability and responsibility for the safe operation of all Engineering disciplines onboard which include, marine Engineering, hydraulics, electrical and Electronics & Instrumentation. I also manage the onboard budget for the vessel and manage the onboard CMMS. Experienced in warm layup and developing systems to allow vessels to be maintained in a fully operational condition with minimum crew which allowed the vessel to return to service with minimal downtime.

2nd Engineer / ATSL on worlds first Arctic drillship currently contracted by Shell presently working in South America

I was a Project Engineer involved with the construction and commissioning of the worlds first Arctic drilling ship at Samsung Heavy Industries, South Korea. The project team was responsible for the onsite design changes, commissioning and delivery of the vessel ontime to the owners. I was involved with the commissioning of the main systems such as the Propulsion system (46MW Diesel Electric, DPIII, Rolls Royce UUC505 azimuth thrusters) and large steam plant for Arctic operation . I was involved with all other engineering systems, including drilling systems. During my time in Korea, I was involved in design issues, acceptance tests, FMEA activities and seatrials.

Experience on 145,000m3 LNG, 305,000t VLCC and DPII Shuttle tankers. Motor and Steam propulsion plants. I was assigned to the DPII vessel Loch Rannoch, serving the cargo offtake needs of the Schiehallion FPSO west of Shetland. Becoming 2nd Engineer (1st assist Eng'r) in 2008.During my employment with BP, I became very experienced with dry docking and new builds.
