I facilitated the efficient running of the Fitter Section and the inspection, failure diagnosis, repair and maintenance of vehicles and associated equipment. As a nominated Career Professional Development (CPD) Sponsor, I was responsible for the progression of apprentice tradesmen through their CPD programme. I utilized various IT systems to progress jobs, allocate work, monitor work completion, quality control and controlled the demanding and administration of spares into the section. I was also at the forefront of completing risk assessments on work activities and taskings, putting in place corrective and preventative measures to ensure tasks were carried out in the safest manor possible.

I enabled, carried out and supervised the failure diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on complex equipment’s. Though thorough analysis of failure trends, completed multiple equipment failure reports, comprehending in modifications and improved maintenance strategies reducing down time and optimized equipment performance. As a CPD mentor I guided and oversaw apprentice tradesmen through there certificate of proficiency and ensure they worked within the health and safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

I completed my apprenticeship and then through operating as part of a team and ability to work alone carried out failure diagnosis, repair and planned maintenance on multiple complex equipment systems utilizing system schematics and wiring diagrams returning equipment to the hands of the user in an extremely time sensitive area of operations.
