Responsible for developing a Safety and RAMI capability in support of UK and international projects. Technical lead for Safety and RAMI analysis in support of a multi-million pound framework contract to deliver first-of-a-kind remote handling system for the ITER fusion power project. Authored technical reports influencing UK strategy for development of Equipment Qualification capabilities (see http://namrc.co.uk/services/eq/) and R&D projects to support future fusion power plants. Experience working to UK, French and International requirements and determining approaches and stratgies for gaining regulatory approval.

Supporting the Account Manager in delivering sales, delivery and performance targets against an annual budget. Single point of contact for three nuclear industry customers managing the relationship, new opportunities and delivery of current commitments. Responsible for developing new opportunities and coordinating delivery of proposals / quotations to meet customer requirements. Leading development of new processes and procedures, best practice and lessons learned for existing contracts and new framework agreements. Working with internal resource, projects and technical management to align capabilities with expected opportunities.

Group Lead responsible for delivery of all structural integrity work in support of nuclear power: * Project management of numerous multi-discipline and cross-site work packages including technical, quality, timescale and budget adherence. * Managing projects through a formal gated Design Review process from requirements capture exercises to final design acceptance reviews. * Experience leading projects to resolve emergent issues with the potential to impact plant availability. * Extensively involved in requirements capture, methods development and technical work in support of the Plant Life Extension. Additional role as Work Package Planning Manager on behalf of the Engineering Resource Alliance (ERA):* Acting as single point of contact.* Representing the ERA on technical and commercial issues. * Development of work packages for outsourcing including planning and scope definition.* Facilitating work outsourcing process including pre-contract stage, scoping, contract award, in-flight reviews and close-out.

Supporting a review of all classes of plant to quantify impact of updated ASME 2010 fatigue curves and the effect of including environmental fatigue effects in line with NUREG-CR/6909 and ASME code cases. * Fatigue Initiation Review of Lead Components. Updated assessments of lead components using modern analysis methods to assess impact of updated ASME fatigue curves and environmental fatigue effects. * ASME III stress and fatigue assessments.* Resolution of Independent Nuclear Safety Advisor (INSA) actions. * Plant Life Extension – stress and fatigue assessment of relief line valves including post-yield shakedown assessment and strain based fatigue using ASME III Appendix T methods. * High cycle thermal loading fatigue investigations.* Defect tolerance assessments.* Limit load analyses.

Working within the Computer Aided Engineering department of the Energy & Nuclear division. Responsible for the production of ASME III justification reports, including assessments of structures containing defects. * ASME III justification of primary circuit components including fatigue, analysis of bolted closures, finite element methods and design calculations. * R6 Procedure assessments of structures containing defects including 3D finite element modelling techniques, hand calculation and use of R-CODE software. * Cyclic non-linear material finite element assessments of components to determine stress ratchetting behaviour using kinematic hardening models including Chaboche. * Limit load analysis. * Production of response letters to INSA for structural assessments. * Structural design assessments, to standards including BS2573, justifying components including nuclear decommissioning equipment and nuclear lifting equipment. * Seismic substantiation of structures including nuclear decommissioning equipment and nuclear lifting equipment using finite element analysis. * Hand calculations for pressure systems, structural components and mechanical designs including the use of Mathcad and Excel. * Modal and structural finite element analysis of cryogenic particle accelerator unit for Daresbury Laboratories.
