I established Carreg Coaching Ltd on 1 April 2020 after being a sole trader from July 2018. Carreg is the Welsh word for stone or rock and my approach is to be the rock in any relationship with clients. I'm a qualified and accredited Leadership Coach offering online Zoom and face to face sessions, and a leadership development facilitator. My coaching style is emergent and responds to the needs of the coachee in each session. I specialise in Higher Education but coach people from all industry sectors. I have particular expertise in coaching imposter syndrome, improving confidence, building resilience, leadership and strategy.I have over 20 years experience in Higher Education; 10 as a management academic at Loughborough University, 10 as Senior Manager at Aberystwyth University and 4 with Advance HE (formerly Leadership Foundation). As a result, I managed six functional mangers with a total team of 50 people covering research support and development; business development and technology transfer; research, business & innovation finance; large research and enterprise project management, REF and research monitoring, and had personal responsibility for researcher development. As part of this remit, I was Head of Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities’ Strategic Alliance Office, Chair of the Aberystwyth Researcher Concordat Group that reports to Research Committee, and Aberystwyth University Welsh Crucible Champion (http://www.welshcrucible.org.uk), the Future Research Leaders Programme that won a Times High Education Award in 2013. I took an active part in developing and delivering this programme.I reported to the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Quality Assurance and sat-on and work with the Research Committee to implement the University’s Research Strategy by working closely with academic departments and other service departments.I was the 2011-12 Chair of the Welsh Research Office Liaison Officers Network (WROLOS).

The role involves working with Senior Management at both Universities to deliver the targets of the Partnership, as well as liaison with HEFCW, the Welsh Assembly Government, Government Agencies such as the Environment Agency, developing links with industry and third mission organisations, and raising research funding from Research Councils, Govenernment and Industry.
