I play a critical role in the operational supply chain by ensuring that goods are loaded and discharged in a safe and efficient manner. I display a safety-first approach, proactive and positive attitude and take pride in high work ethic and team-player mentality. I also demonstrate resilience and flexibility to work irregular shifts under the direction of the shift managers and team leaders, whilst always adhering to OH&S requirements of the role. I work mostly on the shipyard performing a variety of duties during my shift. My work primarily involves the cargo operations such as loading and unloading of cargoes on ships. It also includes the other various dockside functions.

My main role as a Project Coordinator was to coordinate the freight schedule, the costing and the issues and risks of the freight operations. It was my job to make sure the delivery was well-organised and that it ran smoothly. This included communicating with various departments in the organisation to make sure everyone was on the same page. I provided constant communications of issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal and external.I also coordinated and prepared invoicing and costing to ensure timely and accurate completion of customer invoices. Making sure daily tasks were completed accurately and in a timely manner was important to avoid delays and issues. More importantly, I ensured that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction and financial commitments were met.

My main role as a Manager was to ensure that operations of the company was handled promptly and safely, overseeing equipment and personnel, coordinating with outside stakeholders, securing contracts from customers, preparing budgets, developing safety procedures and making sure that necessary documents were prepared correctly.I was responsible for all aspects of the Safety Management within my area, including compliance with safety codes and policies. I articulated a safety vision for the team, considering the impact on safety when making decisions. I also ensured exceptional customer experience, by making sure that customers received a high priority, with the commitment to exceeding the needs of all customers. I proactively identified problems that negatively impacted the customer’s experience and resolved them in a timely manner, as needed.In addition, I oversaw the operational efficiency of the business. I was responsible for overseeing the productivity and coordinating efforts, driving employee productivity and meeting or exceeding performance metrics for delivery and service. I ensured procedures were followed to complete daily work accurately. Lastly, I also performed team management, communicating company strategic goals, updating critical performance areas and monitoring productivity through reporting and other tools.

In this role, I was responsible for managing all facets of the day-to-day operations across the site, this included service quality and ensuring that we have the correct allocation of resources including Linehaul, PUD, Depot Operations, Call Centre, Fleet Management and Radio Room.I was also responsible for managing and directing staff under my control, and ensuring timely unloading of our inbound linehauls, ensuring freight received was sorted correctly, and managing the timely dispatch of the fleet runs to ensure service times were met.I was also presented with an exciting challenge of leading, developing and implementing improvements to the operation as a whole.

It was main task to manage and exceed the clients’ expectation with a strong understanding and focus on deliveries with transportation and freight of their product. I effectively coordinated all outbound transport services, including conducting checks to ensure arrival and departing times were met per agreed time schedule.I also established and maintained a strong relationship with the client and exceeded their expectations, managing all staff members ensuring all procedures, deadlines and KPIs were being met. Also, I ensured safety was a priority and maintained a safe work environment for all staff and site visitors.
