• Controlled shipping, receiving, production support, inventory management, cycle counting, lean initiatives within the materials organization in a plant of 450 – 700 employees, producing OEM automotive audio systems for tier 1 and tier 2 automotive customers, home sound systems, military headgear, remanufacturing and repair operations.• Managed a local materials organization of 35 – 60 hourly and exempt employees.• Deployed SAP enterprise software in June 2007. • Implemented Lean Manufacturing principles, gaining extensive experience with value stream mapping process, continuous improvement, six-sigma methodologies. • Led or heavily contributed to the following lean initiatives:o Kanban pull system implemented on thousands of raw materials and WIP parts. In-depth knowledge of “classic KANBAN” and “event driven KANBAN” SAP functionality.o PFEP development, WIP and raw material supermarket development and execution, in-plant material tugger routes that move inventory on a specific schedule. o Implementation of heijunka scheduling boards and level loading production.o Transitioned planning from a “push”, to a pull system, and in some cases, true “flow”.• Maintained warehouse cycle count accuracy above 99.96% throughout the last year.• Reduced line side, raw material inventory levels up to 75% with KANBAN implementation.• Earned Six Sigma “green belt” certification.• Graduated from Bose Production System University- The internal Lean/Six-Sigma education program.• Implemented auto-back flushing to increase inventory accuracy.
