While supervising contracts for BP Oil from 1991-19997, I suffered sight loss due to Diabetic Retinopathy forcing me to abandon my career in Transport Management. After a long period of treatment and rehabilitation, I started on a new career testing websites for low vision and colour contrast issues.I was given the opportunity to join Shaw Trust web accreditation team on a volunteer basis. Soon I was offered a position as a web content auditor. I gained considerable experience in accessibility issues and therefore very passionate about issues of inlusion, equality and accessibility.I further trained as an Access Auditor. This gives the knowledge and skills to audit buildings and identify accessibility issues and to suggest resonable adjustments for Disability and the Equality Act 2010 conformance. I departed Shaw Trust in January 2011 and soon after gained employment with the Digital Accessibility Centre based in Neath, South Wales. Here, I am part of a Team of dedicated and passionate analysts, all of whom have a disability. We analyse web sites from a users prospective to give an unique insight in how the disabled view our clients web sites.On a personal note, I have been a semi proffessional drummer with over 25 years experience throughout the UK in both live and studio session work.
