I am currently working in a busy lab in South Yorkshire. My day to day duties include blocking and glazing multi-focal lenses using the Mr Orange blocking and edging system and also Kappa machinery and ordering lenses using the LOP system. We are now currently using the SE9090 robotic edger and Ice blocking system.

I managed a small but busy lab taking customer orders and glazing various frames to specific requirements using the Briot Accurra edging machinery. I was also responsible for customer invoicing and stock taking.

My main jobs we're blocking unfinished blank lenses and cutting them to the required prescription using the Gerber SGX and XRT cutting systems. I also ran the Cyl fining and polishing machinery for a time.

I was responsible for surfacing multi focal lenses and glazing finished lenses into various frames within the hour.

Blocking and surfacing semi-finished lenses. Day to day running of the Gerber SGX and and XRT grinding machines. Inputting prescription data prior to surfacing. Completing invoices Checking finished lenses for correct powers and quality before dispatching.
