Manager for National Account Sales Management , Consumer Electronics Div., Sony China Ltd.With the support of top management, I made a pioneering contribution to the building of the National Account Management organization which years later oversees the most important channels for Sony China. Built strategic partnerships with national retail chains such as Guomei, Suning, Yongle, Carrefour, Wal-Mart, Metro and Sam's Clubs. This channel contributed nearly RMB1-billion of sales to Sony China when I left the company. Prior to National Accounts, I was China Sales Manager for Battery Sales Division.Started as a marketing rep in Sony Guangzhou Office in 1994 responsible for the distribution and marketing in the South and West China, I quickly established myself as a star in the then a lean and entrepreneurial organization through a strong work ethic, a passion for business and a track record in building sales and distributor networks.My Sony experience has taught me a hard lesson about the importance of innovation. During my Sony years, I had witnessed the rise of Samsung and Apple (then only made iMac and iPod) as a challenger to Sony in many areas including TV, cell phone and portable electronic gadgets. From what I have seen, I was convinced that Sony's fall today is rooted in its own success and according arrogance and complacency. Many once successful companies fall victim to their own once towering success.
