Started out as a craft apprentice at Fluidrive Engineering (Turning, mechanical fitting and CNC machining and programming). Worked as a Production Engineer after completion of my apprenticeship whilst studying for my BTEC HNC. Then studied full time and gained a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. Worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for NSK-RHP bearings, then JDS Uniphase. Embarked on a slight career change and became an Engineer Surveyor for HSB Haughton for a few years then worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for Xtrac Transmissions. My skills and knowledge then took me over to Australia working for Electrolux... I then had a career change and trained to be a secondary school teacher, teaching Design and Technology. After being disillusioned by teaching I worked in the CAD/CAM industry for Vero Software as an application engineer within the development department where I had an influential role in developing Edgecam software. After a company takeover and restructuring I decided to return to being an Engineer Surveyor for Hutcheon Examination Services Ltd being my current employment. I have a 3D printer and often make things at hobby level using my 3D CAD solid modelling skills. If I'm not 3D printing things then I can be found in my little workshop either on my lathe or milling machine knocking up components to fix things for myself or friends. To summarise, I'm a practical, versatile engineer with experience in many engineering sectors.
