For the final quarters of 2018 I took responsibility for the day to day delivery of the North Somerset highway contract. I worked with the team to improve consistency and resilience to deliver the service whilst engaging with tear client to address service issues and manage expectations.

I delivered several key outcomes for Highway Operations around strategic tenders, improving management of self-delivery production and the identification and delivery of innovation. Key activities include:+ Oversee the delivery of operational solutions for future highways tenders+ Took part in client engagement for the Gloucestershire highways tender alongside producing the operational solution, operational manual and collaborating on the tender strategy+ Led implementation of production and visual management + Develop the Operations Forum to include operational leads for key highway activities

I was a key member for mobilisations in 3 contracts fulfilling a variety of roles in Devon, Cambridgeshire and Hampshire. Key responsibilities included:Devon+ Led User Acceptance Testing processes for the mobilisation of SkanWorks+ Developed a plan for system implementation and transition+ Led the system team during transition to support transferring staff to operate the system+ Conducted inductions and training of operatives and staffCambridgeshire+ Led mobilisation activities as Mobilisation Manager+ Managed all activities relating to mobilisation+ Member of the mobilisation board with our client to manage and update progress+ Managed the mobilisation risk register+ Developed a transition plan for service change during transition+ Worked closely with and supported the Service Manager to fulfil client requirementsHampshire+ Acted as operational support in the final weeks of mobilisation+ Conducted depot assessments during mobilisation+ Supported launch activities including training and preparation of the launch presentation+ Attended mobilisation board meetings with the client

As Bid Manager I worked across the Skanska business to manage the Cambridgeshire tender through extensive competitive dialogue and submission phases. My role included;+ Engaging with and managing resources from other teams, including HR, IT, commercial, procurement, operations, design, business improvement, SHEQ, legal and property+ Monitoring progress against and identify programme risks+ Identifying intelligence and collating this along with research and client engagement+ Ensuring tender documents are obtained, distributed and updated+ Managing tender governance processes+ Structuring, arranging and chairing tender meetings and reviews+ Communicating clearly with directors, managers, and the pre-construction team

I quickly adapted to Highways England processes supporting Area 2 to achieve an unprecedented increase in budget spend. In my role I developed and maintained scheme programmes, facilitated early contractor involvement between all parties to ensure the best solution. This included reviewing scheme design for buildability issues and offering solutions. I supported health and safety compliance by inducting both internal and external staff and undertaking regular site audits to check compliance. I also took part in Staff Reps meetings and sustainability forums.

I was a member of the bid team and built good working relationships across the wider business. In January 2013 I provided the principal input to the operational solution for the Gloucestershire Highways re-bid and in January 2014 I continued this experience when asked to support the Area 4 & 12 submissions as a core bid writer. As part of my GH role I undertook the following activities;+ Developed and facilitated Solution Workshops+ Defined the operational solution for the bid + Wrote the mobilisation method statement+ Wrote the annual plan inclusive of operational processes and productivity calculations+ Worked closely with the commercial team to ensure our operational solution was pricedIn my role within the Area 4 and 12 submissions I gained experience of Highways Agency processes, documents, objectives and the best practice that has been produced in Skanska. I undertook activities that included;+ Engaging with staff across Skanska obtaining case studies + Writing multiple core processes and adjoining activity notes+ Writing case study evidence

In this role I was tasked with multiple projects. These included;A cyclic maintenance review and improvement project requiring the following activities;+ Chair meetings with the client to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions+ Develop an innovative and simple to use system with excel+ Develop processes+ Train users to use the system with processes and guidance notesTraining matrix and on site record system development to support operational staff which required the following;+ Review operative and supply chain training records+ Develop training reports to support management and monitoring of competence+ Develop a simple to use system in excel, for universal access to maintain recordsAssess Chapter 8 supply chain competencies and share best practice across the business which required;+ Undertaking meetings with supply chain to improve competency in risk assessments, method statements and point of work processes+ Briefing staff on changes in procedure+ Producing a presentation and presenting to the wider Skanska business to share learningMaintain the demobilisation programme;+ Populate and maintain a comprehensive programme in Microsoft Project+ Regularly update and produce a weekly report for review at meetings

As supervisor and depot manager I was responsible for all operational delivery including;+ Maintaining a customer focus, through respectful and timely responses to operational enquiries and complaints+ Leading a variety of operational activities including; routine maintenance, capital improvement works, defect repair and parish works+ Developing and implementing contract wide Safety Briefings+ Participating in out of hours manager rotas acting as duty manager for winter and emergency operations+ Working closely with the client to ensure the depot maintained health, safety and environmental standards+ Manage and improve efficiency and productivity through developing and implementing improvements and depot performance visualisation+ Supporting and developing employees through annual performance reviews and ad-hoc performance management+ Ensuring defect KPI targets of 100% were achieved and maintained

During my first line management role I was responsible for maintaining the health and safety standards on maintenance sites. Ordering plant, vehicles and materials where required. Preparing estimates and billing for completed works. I was assigned extra responsibilities including programming of construction and structure schemes across three depots.
