Key roles: • The main point of contact for the UCI to collate and meet technical requirements. • Liaising with National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chef de Missions on an on-going basis.• Managing team liaison staff to ensure all NOC requirements met.• Writing sport specific management plans to ensure effective delivery of the sport element of the Olympic events. • Liaising with all other departments within London 2012 to ensure effective delivery of the events.• Managing a team to coordinate vehicles and traffic movement at the start/ finish areas.• Liaising with stakeholders such as TFL, city and county councils and venue owners. Key roles/achievements: • Setting up an Elite Athlete Programme to deliver Scottish Cycling’s Commonwealth medal targets in 2010 and 2014.• Overall line management of the National Coach and support services identified with the Scottish Institute of Sport.• Delivery of the first ever Talent ID programme in Scotland by partnering with key agencies to attract new talent. • Recruitment of two talent coaches and implementation of a talent development programme covering all Olympic cycling disciplines. This programme delivered 22.5% of young riders recruited onto British Cycling’s Olympic Development Programme for 2010 , despite Scotland only making up 10% of the UK population.• Overall responsibility for the strategic planning and development of a regional coaching programme involving seven full time regional development coaches and a coach coordinator. • Recruiting a team of 14 coaching and support staff to deliver the performance development programmes.• Management of a budget covering all performance development programmes from playground to podium.
