Responsible for leading, supervising and organizing large capital construction projects while focusing on developing the skillsets of the people in my work group. Support Business Development efforts and cultivate new business opportunities by leveraging relationships in the industrial and transportation building sectors. Develop and maintain relationships with existing blue-chip clients to learn their business models, needs and support of their growth needs.Responsible for development of Basis of Design for a new chilled warehouse and associated automated warehouse system for movement of goods received and outbound shipments. Provide full Owner’s Representative services beginning with land and parcel allocations, environmental, site development and endangered species permitting along with design build construction of the facility and material handling systems.

Responsible for design and construction of facility expansions to accommodate installation of automated sortation systems. Oversee and manage installation of automated sortation system from conceptual design all the way through commissioning and start up.Projects ranged from $100 Million to $334 Million in scope. Full scope included Architectural & Engineering Design, General Construction Bidding and Contracting, management of general construction activities and management of installation and start-up of automated sortation systems.Teams included three Senior Project Managers, Project Engineers and management of UPS Corporate BaSE commissioning resources.Additional responsibilities included:- Coordination of activities and permitting with Cities and other authorities with jurisdiction- Public meetings and hearings for approval of UPS concepts- Control of contract compliance, capital budget, projection of capital cash flow and ensuring vendor invoices were processed and paid to terms- Support of Real Estate purchases to acquire land necessary to support the project scope was also a key early stage element to many of these projects

Responsible for the day to day management of facility maintenance, project implementation, environmental and regulated goods compliance and housekeeping activities for more than 100 facilities located in five states.Team included more than 30 managers and supervisors, 50 maintenance technicians and nearly 100 housekeeping personnel.Role also included selection of vendors to support UPS internal resources, creation of and management of capital and operating budgets.

Responsible for the day to day management of a wide variety of capital improvement projects, many of which were in process concurrently.Projects included:- Construction of new UPS Package Delivery Facility - $18 Million- Installation of new technology and equipment in existing facilities for projects ranging from $1.2 Million to $4 Million- Large scale roofing and paving removal and replacement projects ranging from $2 Million to $7.5 MillionMultisite duties for these projects included:- Development of bidding documents- Solicitation and receipt of bids- Contractor selection and contract oversight and management of the multi-disciplined projects- Schedule Management- Project Accounting process Management

Responsible for the day to day management of facility maintenance, project implementation, environmental and regulated goods compliance and housekeeping activities for approximately 30 facilities in two states.Team included several supervisors, approximately 15 maintenance technicians and nearly 40 housekeeping personnel.Role also included selection of vendors to support UPS internal resources, assisting with creation of and management of capital and operating budgets.

Responsible for the development and implementation of updates to environmental compliance programs related to:- Storm Water Management- Underground Storage Tank construction and management- Clean Air Regulations application.Developed a comprehensive process for response to spills of various types at UPS that was a cross functional effort with the Health and Safety Department.Represented the UPS Airline on the Air Transport Association Environmental Committee in Washington, D.C.

Roles included opportunities for development within the UPS Buildings & Systems Engineering function with a focus on project management, compliance programs and day to day support of the UPS Operating Districts and Regions. These experiences were obtained primarily in the UPS Airline and Air Operations Network. Highlights included roles as a facilities maintenance and housekeeping supervisor and roles in managing Buildings & Systems Engineering processes for the UPS Airline (Hangar, Flight Training and Simulator facilities, etc.)
