Responsible for strategic and analytical oversight of numerous criminal justice grant programs including application review, contract generation, report analysis, programmatic monitoring compliance, as well as fiscal oversight. Serve as primary and secondary reviewer of state grant contracts within the agency to assure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements prior to signature. Conduct research into matters of programmatic concern, best practices, and infrastructure planning utilizing state rule, federal and state law, crime statistics, and subject matter experts in order to contribute to action plans informed by the most current data and practices available. Utilize previous law enforcement supervisory experience to provide training and technical advice to existing OCJP employees in order to create a workflow that would assure inter-agency teams would successfully meet contracting deadlines.

It was my highest personal honor to have been central to two different life-saving events which resulted in personal recognition for my quick response, but more importantly, made a big difference in the lives of the families affected. Upon my return from Desert Storm, I promoted to Sergeant where I was assigned to Weapons Platoon and responsible for training Marines in their advanced military skills and their respective military specialties within the unit. Also responsible for assisting fellow Marines with their personal and professional development by ensuring they had the training and resources needed. Directly accountable for the actions of the members of the platoon and in charge of enforcing the rules, policies and standards of the Marine Corps. Ensured the unit's facilities met Marine Corps standards and were properly maintained and held accountable for the serviceability, condition and loss of the unit's equipment. Responsible for implementing the policies and orders given by officers. Managed the day-to-day activities of Marines within the boundaries of the policies set by their superior officers. Responded directly to the Commanding Officer for the performance of fellow Marines and ensured the members of the unit were properly motivated to perform their tasks to the best of their ability. Fulfilled a dual role as disciplinarian and motivator by encouraging and correcting wayward Marines, while commending those who fulfill their work satisfactorily.
