I am the Pacific Northwest reporter for Stars and Stripes, the editorially independent newspaper covering the U.S. military. My focus is on the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and California. I'm also interested in the intersection of politics, money and the military. I previously covered Oregon state politics and held various reporting and editing positions at The Orange County Register, ranging from military reporter to travel editor.I've filed stories from all 50 states and over 60 foreign countries. I left to return to my studies at UC Berkeley.
