Since I was five years old, mowing lawns and painting graves in the local cemetery, I’ve known how to do business. I still do. But after decades as a corporate leader domestically and internationally, I’ve learned it’s not just making money that matters. It’s knowing that it’s good business for a business to do good. I’ve learned transformation is a key skill in business. The art is knowing what you are transforming to and why—then having the resolve to deliver the outcomes. For me, that comes from lived and learned experience. I’m a pensioner’s uneducated son who left school at 15 to become an apprentice linesman. I sold hi-fi equipment and sold calendars. And then I became a senior international executive for Mars. The ‘how’ is a long story but involves a reputation as a creative leader with integrity. The ‘why’—I was there 21 years—is I was fascinated by the Mars’ family’s desire to balance principles and commercial outcomes. Not walking a classic path gave me my superpower. It made me a great people person with empathy and perspective who is comfortable in any level of society. Knowing from career and life that deep transformation brings incredible outcomes for life and career is why I started 360Resolve. The name? A 360 perspective is important. Using the strategies and insights that took me from a rural housing commission place to international boardrooms, I work with global businesses, advisory services and individuals to drive significant transformation agendas.
